Daisy Basulto-Hernandez

Daisy is from Santa Maria, a small city in Northern Santa Barbara County. She graduated from CSU Northridge in 2015 where she studied Sociology. Daisy joined UCSB in March of 2022 as the Calfresh and Basic Needs Communications Coordinator. She oversees the Calfresh Advocate and Basic Needs Peer Advisors, runs the Food Security and Basic Needs Advising Center, and manages the Basic Needs Communications Team to bring awareness to CalFresh and other basic needs resources that are available to students. Prior to working at UCSB, She developed a network over the course of 6 years in the nonprofit sector where she was able to provide resources to farmworkers, high school students, college students, older adults, children with disabilities, parents, and many other populations.
