The Sustainability Internships and Community Resources (SICR) Department is a department within the Student Enrollment and Success Cluster (SEAS) within Students Affairs. Its administrative functions are supported by the Student Affairs Business Administration (SABA).
SICR is one of the partners of UCSB Sustainability. UCSB sustainability is a collection of efforts from staff, students, administrators, and faculty across the campus. We work in a decentralized manner through partnerships in an informal network to implement changes and improvements. SICR's role in this network is to provide avenues for students to take on leadership roles in the work to improve UCSB’s impact on the environment.
The Director of Student Sustainability Initiatives is a consultant to the Chancellor's Campus Sustainability Committee (CCSC) on issues of student engagement and SICR student interns often present to the CCSC on their work to receive feedback.
