The California College Corps Program helps create debt-free pathways to college while engaging students across the state in solving problems in their communities. This program offers students, including DREAMers, up to $10,000 through a stipend and education award for completing 450 hours of community service in one year in areas of climate action, food insecurity, and K-12 education. UCSB will be joining Cal Poly San Luis Obispo’s Coastal California Civic Leadership Consortium for the upcoming College Corps grant period of January 2026 to June 2029 and was approved to offer fellowships to 60 UCSB students annually who will work with local non-profits, government agencies, and community serving programs at higher education campuses.

Goal # 1

Engage college students in meaningful service to build leadership and civic responsibility

Goal #2

Promote academic success and economic wellbeing with students from diverse backgrounds

Goal #3

Support the work of community based partners in key local priorities: Climate Action, Food Security, and K-12 Education

UC Santa Barbara is part of the Cal Poly San Luis Obispo Coastal California Civic Leadership Consortium which also includes CSU Long Beach, Long Beach City College, Allan Hancock College, and Cuesta College. By bringing together the three public college and university systems in our region, we will be able to further support transfer pathways for students and provide a diversity of students to support our local non-profit community.
