Pastor
University United Methodist Church of Isla Vista (U.Me.IV)
Rev. Martin Finau, also known as Matini, is passionate about transforming lives through Christian love and compassion. He is of Tongan descent but brings a diverse cultural background, having grown up as a fourth-generation clergyman. He now serves as the Pastor for University United Methodist Church of Isla Vista (U.Me.IV). He studied at McMurry University in Abilene, Texas, for undergraduate work and attended Candler School of Theology in Atlanta, Georgia, for his Master of Divinity degree. He is committed to social justice ministries and joins with neighbors in community development. A faithful mantra Matini strives to embody is, “Do all the good you can, In all the ways you can, To all the people you can, As long as you even can.” – John Wesley.
Support of SICR Interns: U.Me.IV has a special connection with the Isla Vista community and students through the Methodist Community Garden.
