Dr. Adanari Zarate is the Associate Director of the ÉXITO program at UC Santa Barbara, where she has worked in educational settings for over 15 years. Her research expertise spans Ethnic Studies Education, Critical Pedagogy, and Teacher Education. She holds a PhD in Chicana and Chicano Studies from UCSB, an MA in Social and Cultural Analysis of Education from Cal State Long Beach, and a B.S. in Child and Adolescent Development from Cal State Fullerton. Dr. Zarate is deeply committed to supporting students from minority communities and advancing educational justice through higher education access.
