Communications Coordinator, Calfresh and Basic Needs

Daisy Basulto was born and raised in Santa Maria, California, and earned a B.A. in Sociology from CSU Northridge. She joined UCSB in March 2022 as the CalFresh and Basic Needs Communications Coordinator, bringing three years of experience with the CalFresh program and six years working with marginalized communities including older adults, mixed-status families, and college students. Each year, Daisy trains and mentors over 10 student interns to increase awareness of food, housing, and other basic needs resources available to UCSB students and their families.
