Dylan Otte serves as the Naturalist and Volunteer Manager at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History, Sea Center. Born and raised in Ventura, California, she developed an early interest in the natural sciences through her appreciation of the region’s diverse ecosystems. Recognizing the extensive impacts of anthropogenic activities on the environment, she pursued a career dedicated to conservation and environmental education. In her current position, Dylan advances the Sea Center’s mission by promoting ocean literacy and fostering environmental stewardship within the Santa Barbara community. She oversees the Sea Center’s volunteer program comprising more than 130 individuals and coordinates monthly community beach cleanups, providing opportunities for public engagement in hands-on stewardship efforts while strengthening community awareness of coastal ecosystem protection.
