E. Onja Brown is the CEO and Executive Director of the MLKjr Committee of Santa Barbara. She previously served as Assistant Director of the Education Opportunity Program at UCSB and as Director of Education for the Marine Ecological Institute in Redwood, California, and has worked as a home and hospital instructor for the Carpinteria Unified School District. Onja holds an MA in Counseling from San Francisco State University and a BA in Biology from San Jose State University, and holds multiple California teaching and counseling credentials including K–12, special education, and community college counseling.
