My name is Isabella, and I am a third-year student at UC Santa Barbara pursuing a major in Microbiology and a minor in Spanish. I believe everyone, regardless of their background or circumstances, deserves access to nutritious and affordable food. In the past, I have worked with volunteer groups committed to improving food access for unhoused individuals and others in need. Over the last two years at UCSB, I have worked as a Resident Assistant helping new undergraduates build community by engaging students in discussions about their well being and referring them to resources such as CalFresh. During my time as a College Corps Fellow, I hope to gain hands-on experience growing food and learn more about sustainable agriculture and community-based food systems.
