About
John Abraham Powell graduated from Santa Barbara High School and attended Vassar College, earning a B.A. in Philosophy in 1993. He worked at Skate One Corporation before founding Solforce, a solar energy company he led for 17 years. In 2018, he co-founded the Santa Barbara Bucket Brigade in response to the Montecito debris flow disaster and now serves as its Executive Director. With decades of experience in community organizing, environmental advocacy, alternative energy systems, and emergency response, John dedicates his work to building climate and disaster resilience throughout Santa Barbara County.
