My name is Kimberly Carrera, I am a 2nd year Sociology major and Journalism minor at UCSB. I am committed to community service and outreach, having experience as a tutor to unhoused children with School on Wheels, as a student assistant at the AS Food Bank, and College Corps partner at McEnroe Reading & Language Arts Clinic. In my time at UCSB, I hope to bridge the gap between the university, it's students, and the community around them in creating a safer, more equal space for all. I have experience in developing English reading and language skills in youth, sociological research, interviewing for journalistic writing, as well as company operations. Originally from Los Angeles, I love the city but find a quiet beauty in the outdoors.
