Leslie Rios

My name is Leslie Rios. I am an incoming UC Santa Barbara student majoring in Zoology to focus on my career path of wildlife conservation. I believe that through community works as well as individual sustainable efforts, you not only improve your own living but also play a crucial part in the vast networks of our shared environment. Over the years, I have created multiple events through different clubs and organizations in hopes of improving the community and, ultimately, the environment. I was given the privilege of being part of multiple organizations, most of which I held board positions in. Some of those clubs included: ASB, Fawn Care Club, Interact Club, Children First, The City of Bakersfield Animal Care Center, and CALM Zoo. Through these works, I was able to tackle major issues affecting my area while also seeing firsthand how much they truly affected those involved. During my undergraduate years, I strive to gain valuable hands-on experience and be part of the change in conservation.
