Mariah Leggett

Hi my name is Mariah and I’m a first year student majoring in English with minors in Education and Chicano Studies, and I use she/her pronouns. I am very passionate about community service in education because I believe every student deserves support and equal opportunities to succeed. During my senior year of high school, I volunteered in an elementary school classroom for a year, which strengthened my passion for working with students and supporting their growth. My experiences in leadership and mentoring have shown me how important strong educational support systems are, especially for children facing challenges. I also love advocating for education and creating spaces where students feel seen and supported. In the future, I hope to teach for a few years before eventually going into school administration so I can continue making a positive impact on students and educational communities!
