Paloma Maciel

I am a third-year undergraduate student at UCSB who recently transferred from Long Beach City College (LBCC). I am a proud first-generation college student who speaks both English and Spanish. I am majoring in Communication Studies and hope to add the Professional Writing Minor with a concentration in Journalism. I am passionate about highlighting the experiences of the community through writing journalistic articles, and I enjoy expressing myself creatively through the process. At LBCC, I helped mentor incoming reporters and editors by being editor-in-chief of the student-run paper. My hobbies include singing, fashion, since I enjoy creating fun outfits and analyzing the latest trends. I want to combine my love for fashion, writing, and journalism to become a fashion reporter.
