Sergio Lagunas

Sergio A. Lagunas is the College Corps Program Coordinator at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He functions as the primary point of contact for community host partners and college corps fellows at UCSB. He has served as a higher education professional for over 10 years including roles in financial aid, outreach and recruitment, college promise, international students, student activities, and more. He is committed to advocating for mental health and wellness, amplifying voices, and maximizing educational experiences for all students. Sergio is a first-generation college graduate who transferred from Oxnard College to UC Santa Barbara, where he earned a B.A. in English with a minor in Education in 2011. He also completed an M.A. in Higher Education Leadership from CSU Sacramento in 2017. Sergio enjoys exploring outdoor spaces, volunteering, and life at home with his wife, young son, and chocolate labrador retriever.
