Vanessa Ramirez

Hi! My name is Vanessa Ramirez, and I am a first-year Environmental Studies major. I'm passionate about community service because I believe change starts with local action, especially in the face of environmental and social vulnerability. Community is key to seeing change. My prior experience includes local ecosystem restoration with YCT, volunteering at my local park to restore public land, and assembling meal kits for low-income households. These experiences that I gain motivate me and encourage me towards my goal of pursuing a career in environmental policy and advocacy. Outside of school and service, I love dancing Baile Folklórico and exploring new places in Santa Barbara.
