About the E-CAR 805 Project
The Equitable Charging Access for Renters in the 805 region (E-CAR 805) Project is a collaboration across three counties—San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura—to expand electric vehicle charging access to low-income multifamily housing along the Central Coast.

Who We Work With
E-CAR 805 is a dynamic partnership led by UC Santa Barbara’s Sustainability Internships and Community Resources Department (SICR).

Goals of the Outreach Program
Our outreach program aims to:
- Engage multifamily housing (MFH) and offsite hosts to support EV charger use and adoption.
- Promote EV ownership among MFH residents by sharing information about EV models, incentives, and purchase guidance.
- Increase EV charging use by highlighting the benefits of accessible charging stations installed through the project.
