Sequoia is a second year Environmental Studies major and is going into her second year of working with SICR. Sequoia is the Garden Coordinator for Methodist Community Garden for the Edible Campus Program. In this role, she is responsible for the general management of the garden, as well as providing direction to volunteers, connecting with community members, and facilitating the Garden Club at the garden. Sequoia is also a UC Bonnie Reiss Leading on Climate Action Fellow. Through this fellowship, she is part of a statewide network of student leaders working to implement climate solutions on their campuses. Sequoia is from Oakland, California, which makes her particularly aware of the challenges of urban living and socioeconomics when it comes to sustainable lifestyles. In her free time, she enjoys surfing and hiking.
